A green landmark on The Kingsway

Green Sphere recently completed a landmark green-wall installation at The Dragon Hotel in Swansea, transforming one of the city's most recognisable buildings into a visible symbol of urban sustainability.

The living façade softens the hotel's architecture, supports local air-quality and biodiversity ambitions, and introduces a striking natural feature in the heart of the city - the kind of resident-facing improvement that makes regeneration feel tangible.

About the project

Three façades, up to six storeys

Living walls wrap three sides of the prominent Kingsway Circle building, rising up to six storeys and planted with a rich mix of boxwood, wallflower, honeysuckle and wisteria for year-round colour and biodiversity.

Delivered with Swansea Council and supported by Welsh Government Transforming Towns funding, the scheme forms part of the city's £1bn centre regeneration - complementing new street trees on The Kingsway and the park beside Swansea Arena. A long-term maintenance plan keeps the façade thriving and protects the public investment.
